University of Exeter Ranks High in the United Kingdom
In the field of education, an academic programme or the institution’s dedication to excellence is a quality which many strive for but which few are commended. The University of Exeter is proud to announce the recent release of the Guardian University Guide 2020 edition, which ranked the university among the top 10 in a list of more than 120 schools in the United Kingdom (UK).
The Guardian University Guide is considered one of the most reliable and widely used university guides in the country, with its objective guidelines for measuring an academic institution’s qualities. The ranking takes into consideration a wide variety of factors, such as student satisfaction and rate of employment following graduation. It also incorporates a “value-added” component that adjusts scores to reflect graduates’ preparation for the entry-level job qualifications in their desired field.
Assessing these parameters, the Guardian University Guide metrics ranked the University of Exeter among the most elite schools in the UK. The list includes the University of Warwick (#9), Imperial College of London (#7) with the University of Cambridge taking the first spot. Further supporting this high ranking is the recently-released CWTS Leiden Ranking 2019, which assessed the university against programmes worldwide. In their analysis, the University of Exeter ranked 24th in the world and ninth overall in Western Europe.
An equally exciting factor is that the University of Exeter has moved up four spots from last year’s guide to 10th place this year. This improvement serves as a great reminder of the University of Exeter’s ongoing commitment to exceptional educational experiences and outcomes for their students. As Sir Steve Smith, University of Exeter Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Professor noted, “this ranking confirms our commitment to delivering high-quality education . . . and is a testament to the outstanding work and dedication of all our staff and students”. In other words, the hard work and commitment of all members of the University of Exeter have contributed to making it a dynamic space for enquiry and learning. In doing so, they continue to reinforce the university’s quality and to secure its prestigious standing.
