Why not enhance your career development with an online Masters degree from the University of Exeter’s EQUIS-accredited Business School? From September we’ll be running part-time online MSc degree in Marketing, designed for completion in two years. These programmes build on the successful and long-established on-campus versions, but have been reimagined for online learning. Our vision is of a networked learning community connected by technology, and engaging in the same purposeful career-minded study that is typical of Exeter students. You would not expect anything less of a leading UK university, where our business and management undergraduates rank number one for graduate career destinations (DLHE, 2016).
At the University of Exeter we’re creating a type of remote learning that is far removed from the isolated distance learning of old. Harnessing the full potential of a modern virtual learning environment and social media-like applications, Exeter's vision of online learning connects, collaborates, and offers challenge that will enrich learning and facilitate your chosen career path.
Our three online programmes are structured so that you study one module at a time, steadily building your expertise, before the degree culminates in a supported dissertation or project. The MSc Marketing is designed to expand your understanding of marketing practices and consumer behaviour, making you better placed to start or develop your career as a marketing professional. The MSc International Business examines global connectivity, cultural difference, and the practicalities of business that spans national borders. The MSc Finance and Management builds very specific skills in financial understanding, and places them in the context of managerial decision-making in organisations of any size.
Understanding the immediate career relevance of our Masters degrees is perhaps therefore self-evident: they focus on application in the world of work. But it’s important to remember that Exeter Masters degrees help you to build broader skills of managing contested evidence, testing ideas, applying cross-national perspectives, and providing informed insight. These are critical skills irrespective of your place and aspirations, and we expect Exeter graduates to always have an opinion worthy of serious consideration.
Irrespective of your original subject background, you can gain admission and benefit from studying with us. Underlying academic capability is important, but so is inquisitiveness and the desire to embark upon a new course of study. Whether you’ve previously studied a business subject, or perhaps come with a background in the arts, humanities or sciences, our online Masters degrees are structured to be accessible and focused, allowing you to maximize your learning and development, and realise application in the workplace. All of this is achieved by studying part-time, and we’re very conscious of structuring learning and assessment in a careful manner that best fits your context.
Having run the UK’s first professionally accredited MOOC (Business & Society with ACCA on FutureLearn) the University of Exeter Business School is embarking upon these three online programmes with the same energy and enthusiasm for online learning. Innovation, rigour and relevance in education is important to us, and we see these new online programmes as continuing that journey. But the singular purpose is to enhance your career potential.
